Innova Pure Water Strengthens Patent Position
For Personal Water Filtration Products
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Clearwater, Florida February
21, 2002: Innova Pure Water, Inc. (IPUR: OTCBB) has been awarded
eight new patents relative to their portable water filters over
the past eighteen months, according to Chairman John E. Nohren,
bringing their total number of patents held to over forty. Five
additional Patents are pending.
"These patents materially broaden and strengthen
Innova's position covering the personal water filtration segment
of market," stated Nohren. The new patents are 6,136,189, 6,165,362,
6,277,284, 6,136,189, 6,193,886, 6,200,471, 6,221,416 and 6,153,096.
Two pending patents include the new Personal Biological
Filter products that have proven so successful in removing E.coli,
as well as K. terrigena bacteria and Cryptosporidium cysts, surpassing
the EPA requirements, as tested. These products provide the consumer,
and potentially the military, with a high degree of effective and
convenient protection. A second design has been engineered to specifically
meet military needs.
Over the past three years, Innova has successfully
litigated its patent 5,609,759 on three occasions resulting in Aladdin
Sales and Marketing vacating the market while The Brita Products
Company and Seychelle Environmental Technology are continuing to
market portable filter bottles under license and royalty agreements
with Innova.
"As a matter of policy, Innova will continue
to forcefully defend its patents and is aware of further opportunities
to secure its position of leadership," concluded Nohren.
